Building Good Relations With People of Different Faiths and Beliefs

Brother Abdur Rahman of Abdur Rahman’s Corner has posted an excellent excerpt from a document that details excellent steps in building good relations with people of different faiths and beliefs. I really enjoyed the excerpt and the post, and found much that I could use when discussing Islam with others. Having good relations with people of other faiths I think is one of the more important goals for Muslims.

  1. Salaam Marc,

I know what you mean. There is so much bad news out there, it is good to hear something good. Good things are happening in the world, but the media tends to focus on the negative. Inshallah, Allah will reward you for spreading the message of Islam to others. There are so many people who are curious about Muslims and they want to hear about Islam from Muslims and not the TV. I think it is great that you have this opportunity to explain to others what Islam is about.

Thanks for stopping by Marc. It’s been a while since I visited your blog, but I’ll try to stop in as soon as I can. I’ve been taking a dreaded speech class among my other classes, and it is requiring much more work than I expected. If you have any pointers to share on public speaking since you speak in front of a lot of people, I’d always appreciate it 🙂

    Barak Allahu Feek

  2. Good to hear nice things once in a while. I think there are major opportunities for us Muslims to engage other communities [or even our own communities!] that we’re not tapping into. I have been invited as a regular speaker to the Penn Charter school, a Quaker school here in the Philadelphia area. They teach a senior-class course on World Religions and have invited me several times to come and speak. I have also spoken at other colleges and universities – not a plug for myself here but to say, “we aught to try and get out there more. People do want to hear what we have to say”. Nice post.

  3. Salaam brother Irving,

    Hi Pete,

I’ve been incredibly busy but I’ll read those articles as soon as I can; thanks for providing the links. They sound very interesting and I like posting articles about Muslim musicians.

Thanks for stopping by our blog 🙂

  4. Hey, all,

Just surfing through, but I thought, from what I’ve seen here, that you’d find an article I just wrote interesting. It’s about a Muslim rapper in Minneapolis who appeals across religious lines. I’ll definitely check out your blog.

    Here’s the article:
