Her journey to Islam is simple, but it’s one of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever heard. She found in Islam that people can be good and make the right choices in life. At the end she states something essential: it takes more courage nowadays to stay in Islam than it is to convert to Islam.
Br. Hakim’s Moroccan shaykh told him to invite and welcome people to his home and not to argue or talk about Islam. So Br. Hakim followed his shaykh’s advice and never overtly talked about the message of Islam to others but invited people to his home to eat and showed beautiful generosity to them. Through actions and not words did he reveal the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After 9/11, nine of those friends became Muslim.
